Geothermal Innovation at the Heart of Davos: High-Level Media Coverage at the Tonic Piano Bar

When global leaders gather in Davos for the World Economic Forum, every side event carries a unique weight of responsibility and prestige. In January 2026, our team had the honour of documenting a high-profile event dedicated to geothermal energy, held at the sophisticated Tonic Piano Bar in Hotel Europe.

Capturing the "Davos Spirit" in an Intimate Setting

The event combined serious global discourse with a refined, club-like atmosphere. Our lead photographer, Yana, was on the ground to capture this blend of formal and informal networking. One of the evening's highlights was a performance by a world-renowned pianist, who entertained the guests after the official presentations.

"The atmosphere was exceptionally relaxed yet focused," says Yana. "Because the setting was a cozy, club-style piano bar, the lighting was intentionally dark and atmospheric. However, being fully equipped with professional flashes allowed us to overcome these challenging lighting conditions effortlessly, ensuring high-quality results without losing the venue's intimate charm."

Strategic Real-Time Content for Global Press

In the high-stakes environment of Davos, where news travels in seconds, wait times are not an option. We implemented a specialized workflow designed for immediate digital impact, ensuring the event's narrative reached global audiences while the sessions were still in full swing:

  • On-the-Spot Selection & Editing: Directly at the venue, we curated and professionally edited a shortlist of 30–40 high-impact images for immediate distribution to international press and social media channels.
  • Mastering the "Dark Room" Aesthetics: Utilizing advanced flash techniques, we preserved the warm, intimate atmosphere of the Tonic Piano Bar while delivering crisp, vibrant results—proving that challenging lighting is never a barrier to professional quality.
  • Documenting High-Level Connections: Our focus remained on capturing the genuine synergy between world leaders and industry experts, documenting both the formal discourse on geothermal energy and the spontaneous networking that defines the Davos experience.

The Power of Partnership

A successful outcome at such a high-stakes event is always a collaborative effort. Throughout the four-hour session, our team worked hand-in-hand with the organisers to ensure every branding detail and key guest interaction was documented perfectly.

"We were incredibly fortunate to work with clients who were so proactive and collaborative," Yana adds. "This synergy between the media team and the organisers is what leads to a result that the client is truly satisfied with. We are already looking forward to returning for the same event next year."
