Capturing Team Spirit in Prague: The Payara Retreat 2023

Prague, with its blend of historic grandeur and modern energy, served as the perfect backdrop for the Payara Retreat 2023. In May 2023, our local production services in the Czech Republic were dedicated to documenting this vibrant multi-day event. From the conference halls of the Grandium Hotel Prague to the iconic steps of the National Museum (Národní muzeum), we focused on capturing the essence of what makes Payara a global leader in tech: its people.

The retreat was more than just a series of meetings; it was a high-energy celebration of the "Payaran" spirit. Our lead photographer in Prague, Yana, worked closely with the various teams—from Engineering and IT Ops to Marketing and Finance—to create a visual library that reflects their "Openness" and "Community" values.

"The energy at the Payara retreat was incredible," recalls Yana. "The teams were exceptionally friendly and communicative. Whether it was a serious round-table discussion, a competitive scavenger hunt across Prague, or a lively awards ceremony, the participants were incredibly open. This authenticity allowed us to capture genuine smiles and the real connections that define their team synergy."

Working across multiple iconic locations in Prague, our photography coverage was designed to support Payara’s employer branding and internal communications. The production included:

• Professional Headshots & Team Portraits: Setting up a mobile studio at the Grandium Hotel to provide high-quality headshots for over 40 staff members, along with dedicated shots of each department.
• Dynamic Group Sessions: Capturing the "Women in Tech" and "Parents in Tech" groups, as well as the famous "silly poses" and jumping shots that showcased the team's fun side.
• The Landmark Group Photo: A signature shot of the entire global team on the majestic stairs of the Národní muzeum, a moment that perfectly bridged the company's tech-forward identity with the history of Prague.
• Candid Storytelling: Documenting icebreakers, workshops, and the excitement of the scavenger hunt to convey the sense of belonging that Payara fosters.

A key focus of this project was the integration of Payara’s visual identity. From the branded t-shirts and caps to the "Hiring" hashtag signs and custom tote bags, we ensured that every image reinforced the brand’s global presence. The technical execution was seamless, with the hotel’s modern conference spaces providing excellent conditions for both candid and posed photography.

This project remains a highlight of our 2023 portfolio in Central Europe. It stands as a testament to how local professional photography can transform a corporate retreat into a powerful marketing and recruitment asset.
