ETHGlobal's long-awaited return to Argentina brought together 800+ developers, 30+ protocols, and a $500,000 prize pool for a 36-hour build sprint. Held at the Centro de Convenciones Buenos Aires alongside Devconnect Argentina, ETHGlobal Buenos Aires 2025 was one of the most anticipated stops on this year's hackathon calendar — and once again, we were there for our long-term client, Flare. This time, coverage was handled entirely by our local Buenos Aires crew: videographer Egor and photographer Mykyta.
A Local Crew for a Global Partnership
The client has trusted our team to document their presence at hackathons and conferences around the world — from Belgrade, Prague, and Nice to New York, Oxford, and Brussels. For Buenos Aires, instead of flying a crew across the globe, we brought in our local specialists on the ground. Egor and Mykyta gave the client the same level of coverage the brand knows from other cities, with faster response time and none of the friction of international travel.
Two Days, Full Story
ETHGlobal Buenos Aires ran as a three-day, 36-hour hackathon, and our team was on site for two of those three days: the opening on Friday, covering the kick-off, workshops, and the first wave of building, and the closing on Sunday, when final judging, demos, and the awards ceremony brought the sprint to a close. Concentrating on the opening and closing days let us focus resources on the moments with the most visual and narrative payoff, rather than spreading coverage thin across the long overnight middle stretch.
"Shooting a hackathon as a local means you know the room before you even walk in," says Mykyta. "I could move fast between the booths, the workshops, and the stage without losing the candid, in-the-moment feel the client wants from these events."
Aftermovie & Interviews: One Editor, One Style
For video, the deliverables were an event aftermovie and a set of speaker and participant interviews. Our team works with a remote editor who cuts every project regardless of which city it was filmed in — which matters a great deal for a client running events across many cities throughout the year. Whether the footage comes from Belgrade or Buenos Aires, the aftermovie comes back in the same visual language as the rest of the series, so the brand's video library stays consistent no matter where in the world we're shooting.
Photo Reportage: Branding, Activity, Speakers
After covering dozens of similar hackathons and tech conferences, our photo reportage has settled into a reliable structure: branding shots of the venue and partner presence, candid activity coverage of teams building and networking, and stage coverage of speakers and presentations. That consistency is exactly what lets us move quickly on site and still deliver a complete, ready-to-use asset library by the end of the shoot.
